An accomplished entrepreneur with a varied legal career, Doug Federspiel is currently the sole owner of Problem Solver Law, PLLC, where he offers mediation and arbitration services, litigation advice, and various contract services. Doug Federspiel began his career as a trial attorney and partner at Velikanje, Moore & Shore, Inc. P.S. He held this position for 17 years and specialized in commercial litigation, working in Washington, Colorado, Nevada, Florida, California, Texas, and New York. In 2006, he moved to a position as general counsel for the Wilkinson Corporation, then finally moved into judicial roles with the Yakima County and Washington State Courts in 2011.

A graduate of Whitman College and Willamette College of Law with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a juris doctorate, Doug Federspiel is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution, Law Practice Division, and Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division.

During his career, Doug Federspiel has received numerous awards, including being named Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year by the American Bar Association’s Family Law Division. He was also invited to be a fellow with the Litigation Counsel of America. Outside of his career, Mr. Federspiel enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, mountain climbing, and fishing. He is also a skilled golfer and a former City Golf Champion for the city of Yakima.
